GIBSON TENOR GUITARS - Solid Body
If you have any enquiries about the guitars below or would like to purchase any, please email Steve using the icon at the end of the description of each guitar.

Soares'y Built 'Gibson Les Paul' Tenor Guitar
This guitar is based on a genuine Gibson prototype Les Paul Tenor Guitar solid body which Mike Soares'y was able to obtain through his contacts with both Gibson and a Chinese guitar factory when they were investigating whether to build Gibson Les Paul tenor guitars. Mike built a tenor neck for this guitar and fitted it out with appropriate hardware. It is a very interesting footnote in the history of Gibson tenor guitars.

1958 Les Paul Special
Cherry red solid bodied electric with two P-90 pick-ups - again, possibly unique as a Les Paul tenor guitar - mint condition. Click each photo for a larger view.

1965 SG Standard
Cherry red solid bodied electric with two humbucker pick-ups with nickel-plated hardware - also possibly unique in this configuration. This came from Gil Southworth, a well known Gibson collector and dealer, and its photograph is in a book on the history of Gibson electric guitars - but mint condition. If you would like a high quality replica of this Gibson SG tenor guitar go to: http://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/eastwood-astrojet-tenor/

Steve Pyott has assisted in the development of this tribute to this brilliant guitar by providing measurements and a photograph of the Gibson SG tenor in his tenor guitar collection.

Michael Robinson of Eastwood Guitars is using an innovative crowd funding model - a first for the musical instrument industry - to finance the manufacturing set up costs for this superb vintage guitar model.
